Public School Sports & Clubs Access

Your student can pursue their passions both here at Oasis Christian Academy and on the field at their local public middle or high school.

Florida law ensures that students enrolled in private schools have the right to participate in interscholastic extracurricular activities—including athletics and clubs—at the public school they are zoned to attend. This is a powerful benefit that allows your child to enjoy our Christ-centered education while pursuing competitive public school sports.

Requirements for Your Oasis Christian Academy Student:

What You Need to Know

This right is secured by Florida Statute § 1006.15. Your student's eligibility is protected by law and regulated through the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA).

Oasis Christian Academy students generally participate at the public middle or high school where they would be home-zoned to attend based on your residence.

Sport Availability

Your student is eligible to participate in any sport or club that we do not offer at Oasis Christian Academy. This ensures they can access a full range of athletic and extracurricular options.

Eligibility Standards

The student must meet the same core requirements as any public school student, including: * Maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA (or its equivalent). * Meeting the same behavioral and performance standards. * Meeting the public school's residency requirements.

Required Paperwork

You must register your intent to participate with the public school’s Athletic Director before your child begins any tryouts, practices, or conditioning. Specific FHSAA forms (such as the EL12) are required to establish eligibility.

At Oasis Christian Academy, we are committed to both academic excellence and providing every opportunity for your child to thrive!
